Residents in the south of the Island have been allowed to return home after being evacuated last night.
People living near Pairk Beg in Port Erin were taken to a rest centre at the Methodist Church on Station Road at around 4pm yesterday after police say they found 'suspicious items'.
Armed police in Port St Mary later took a man into custody, and explosives experts assessed the scene in Port Erin.
On Facebook, police are asking people not to speculate.
