Douglas Courthouse

A Ramsey woman has been accused of fiddling the benefits system to the tune of over £20,000.

28-year-old Sharon Thomas admitted eight counts of making false representations to obtain benefits at Douglas Courthouse this week.

She received Job Seekers Allowance, Incapacity Benefit and Income Support between March 2013 and September 2015.

The total over-payment will be finalised during a two week adjournment - Thomas will next appear in court on March 22nd.
