A Ramsey pensioner has been put behind bars for indecently assaulting a young girl.
Brian Stephen Goodspeed was a door to door sales man. In 2006 he took his friends daughter out with him on some of his sales rounds and assaulted her.
The girl was 11 years old at the time.
The court heard how the 66 year old man tried to blame the young girl and said she was blackmailing him for money.
The court also heard that Goodspeed had a previous conviction against a 10 year old girl committed in the 70's.
Police say his actions were totally unacceptable in a civilised society and have traumatised a young girl.
He has been sentenced to 16 months in Jurby Prison.
He was ordered to be placed on the sex offenders’ register for a period of 10 years and subject to a Sex Offenders Prevention Order.
