Organisers have confirmed a competitor lost his life during racing on the Billown Circuit today.
68 year old Alan Oversby of Bolton-Le-Sands died in an incident near Ballakeighan, during the second lap of the 400cc race.
He'd competed at the event for more than 20 years, and won two races earlier today.
Southern 100 Road Races have extended their sympathies to his wife Julie, family, team and friends.
