Public Services Commission to come into effect from tomorrow

There's a 'long way to go' in removing bureaucracy from the public sector workforce.

That's the message from Chief Minister Allan Bell, who welcomes legislation which is set to streamline and modernise the current government structure. 
 
Civil servants will join manual and craft workers - 4,000 staff in total - under one new employing body; the Public Services Commission.
 
The changes will come into effect tomorrow.
