Residents are being warned of a texting scam which is circulating on Island.
According to Police, people have been receiving a text which appears to be from their bank alerting them of a password request.
The message then says if the intended victim didn't receive the request to contact their bank with a phone number link.
However, authorities warn whilst the link may look genuine it will infact send the call through to scammers.
As a result, officers are reminding people to never follow links and to always use telephone numbers from a bank's official website.
