Police complain over motorbike parking

Police are reminding people to 'park properly' during the Festival of Motorcycling saying those who don't should expect 'appropriate sanctions'.

Officers are complaining that people aren't adhering to the rules in the areas of the Grandstand and Police Headquarters.

Routes have been marked with 'no waiting' cones so that the emergency services have clear access when responding to calls for help.

However police say people have been 'shuffling' the cones to create spaces to park for their 'own convenience'.

Police say whilst they may show 'a bit of discretion' towards the parking of motorbikes on pavements in other areas it won't tolerate it here as visitors on foot are being forced onto the road.
