Motorists are being urged to make sure their vehicles are fit for the roads this winter.
The constabulary launched its annual vehicle check campaign this week with officers across the force checking vehicles for defects at roadside over the next three weeks.
Officers warn those that don't make the checks could face penalty points, a £120 fine or even a court appearance.
Last years initiative saw 220 vehicles stopped by authorities with 122 of those found to have defects.
