Police have begun their annual campaign today to crack down on drink driving during the festive season.
The initiative will see the roads policing unit, uniformed officers and special constables carrying out patrols to target anyone who gets behind the wheel under the influence of drink or drugs.
16 arrests were made during last year's campaign.
Officers say drink or drug driving is 'totally unacceptable and the consequences are huge to all those involved'.
They add 'let’s end a torrid 2020 by staying safe and making the right decisions this festive period'.
