Manx Utilities has applied for permission to install solar panels on the National Sports Centre.
In a planning application, it says there'll be around 1,200 panels fitted over six roofs on the main building.
The organisation has also applied for a certificate of lawful development for a solar array.
Manx Utilities says the panels and inverters would connect to its power system.
