Pension liability figure hits three billion pound mark

Funding pensions for public sector workers currently costs government £3.3 billion.

That's according to Treasury which released the pension liability figure in the House of Keys this week. 
 
However the calculation is based on every member taking their benefits out of the scheme at the same time - which Minister Eddie Teare believes is 'impossible': 
 
 
He says government is looking into finding more sustainable routes to stop 'encroachment' on its annual revenue budget:
