Open Verdict Recorded In Death of Sex Offender.

Michael Moyle Says Not Convinced Man Intended to Take Own Life

An inquest has heard how a sex offender died from multiple self-inflicted stab wounds.

Mr Jenkinson had previously served prison time for indecently assaulting a 16 year old girl, his body was identified by a female detective who’d had dealings with him following his subsequent release from prison.

He had suffered various injuries and multiple stab wounds, which were deemed to be self inflicted – he had a history of self harming and was once known to have overdosed.

Michael Moyle said in closing that it was only right to record an open verdict, as despite the level of injuries he was not convinced Jenkinson had intended to take his own life.
