The Office of Fair Trading is warning people not to employ coldcalling traders.
The OFT says such traders can pester people into having unnecessary work done and even take money from victims.
The organisation is reminding the public coldcalling is illegal on Island.
It's says to not be pressurised into have unncessary work done and to keep a look out on behalf of vulnerable friends and family who could be targeted.
