Nurseries and libraries up for discussion

Pre-school education and the cuts to library services will once again be raised in the House of Keys next week.

Education Minister Peter Karran will be asked to make a further statement on the planned closure of state run pre-school facilities and the family and mobile library.

North Douglas MHK Bill Henderson will ask the Minister if there are any provisional plans to continue running both services.

Mr Karran will also be asked what the department has planned to assist parents who may struggle to pay for their children to attend such facilities.

There are also two questions tabled for written answer about how much local authorities pay for their libraries which will be directed at the Infrastructure Minister David Cretney.
