Infrastructure Minister Michelle Haywood says reports about the Island's undersea oil and gas resources can't be published without permission from consultants.
In the House of Keys this week, Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas asked whether the DOI would publish documents about hydrocarbon resources.
In response, Dr Haywood said a number of reports from contractors had looked at technical aspects of drilling.
But she explained they couldn't be unilaterally published by her department:
