No decision as yet on Sarah's Law

Minister: We will wait for the completion of a full report on the possible introduction of Sarah’s Law before proposing any legislation.

That’s the view of Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson after he was asked the question in this morning’s sitting of the House of Keys.

Speaking to 3FM prior to the sitting, Mr Watterson said it was crucial to await the results of the full report currently taking place in to the possible introduction of the child protection law in the Isle of Man.

The recommendations of the report are expected next month.

Should the law be implemented then parents would have the right to know if a convicted sex offender lived in a nearby area.
