Government has warned damage to nature reserves won't be tolerated after people were found camping at one without permission.
Police were called to the Ayres National Nature Reserve twice last weekend after separate groups were found to be breaking byelaws.
Last Friday, the recreational area of the reserve at Smeale re-opened for overnight stays but those who head there must have prior permission to do so.
Officials warn anyone found to be breaching the byelaws of the nature reserve could face a fine of up to £5,000.
