The Manx Utilities Authority will have spent more than £4 million this year on maintaining its power station in Pulrose.
Chairman Alex Allinson revealed the figure in the House of Keys yesterday after questions from North Douglas MHK David Ashford.
Dr Allinson said the biggest job at the power station this year was the replacement of one of its gas turbines.
But he said there were plenty of other jobs, which pushed the maintenance bill up:
