Manx Telecom has lodged a series of planning appeals as it tries to put telegraph poles up for broadband in Peel and Crosby.
Last month, the company was refused permission for a total of 18 poles - three on Ballagarey Road in Crosby and another 15 in Rheast Bridson, Corrins Way, Creggan Avenue and Ballaquane Park in Peel.
It said it needed them because it couldn't dig up the roads to lay fibreoptic cables to nearby homes.
However, local residents have now been told an appeals have been lodged and passed to the Cabinet Office.
