Extra time needed in ABH case

More time is needed to assess whether a Douglas man accused of ABH was fit to enter pleas to the charges he faces.

31-year-old Martin Morris had previously pleaded not guilty to two counts of ABH - which reportedly took place on January 24th outside the Broadway Masala in Douglas.

He also denies three charges of damaging property, and two of provoking behaviour, from the same day - and a further charge of damaging property from the day after.

Appearing at Douglas Courthouse earlier this week, via live video link from the Isle of Man Prison, Morris was told the case has been adjourned.

The court heard an updated mental health report is required after queries about whether he was fit to enter the pleas on his first appearance in January.
