Minister: University funding to be looked at

Education Minister Peter Karran has said he wants to see Manx students heading to university continue to receive financial support – but with possible changes.

Talking to 3FM earlier, the Liberal Vannin leader said it was his party’s policy to ensure academically capable young people received support, especially those from lesser-privileged backgrounds.

However, Mr Karran did say that the qualification for this support, such as minimum grades, is an issue that needs looking at.
