Minister to appear before Tynwald committee

It’s been confirmed that Peter Karran will appear before a Tynwald committee examining the decision behind changes to pre-school support.

It’s been confirmed that Peter Karran will appear before a Tynwald committee examining the decision behind changes to pre-school support.

The Education Minister will give oral evidence to the Social Affairs Policy Review Committee later this week.

A wide range of topics is likely to be covered in the session where the chief exec of the department Stuart Dobson and the director for education Martin Barrow will also participate.

The committee comprises of MHKs Brenda Cannell and Steve Rodan as well as MLC Juan Turner.

Mr Karran will appear before the committee on Wednesday for the first of what is expected to be a series of routine scrutiny sessions covering all departments.

The session gets under way at 10.30am at the Legislation Council Chamber in Douglas.
