Economic Development Minister Laurence Skelly says better transport links could help reduce unemployment in the north of the Island.
Yesterday in the House of Keys, he faced questions from Douglas North MHK David Ashford about why there's more joblessness up north than in other areas.
Mr Skelly said no formal assessment has been made by his department, but people in the north often say poor travel links hinder getting to interviews and appointments.
He added people need to be able to access transport easily.
