Back by popular demand the current Mayor of Douglas, Ritchie McNicholl has been voted back in office for another year.
It will mark the fourth term he’s spent as Mayor having filled the role in 2003 and 2005 also.
The Douglas councillors held a selection meeting last week where the decision was reached.
The Murray’s Ward councillor will begin his fourth term as Mayor on May 11th.
The Mayor elects two charities each year that he campaigns for, on top of this there are numerous events to attend and the work currently being done within the council to secure the regeneration of Douglas.
He said he feels the secret to his success lies in his interest in people, and the stories they have to tell.
