Manx Care issues an appeal to help ease winter pressure on Noble's hospital emergency department
Manx Care is asking residents to make 'informed choices' about where to go for healthcare support.
We are being encouraged to choose the option most appropriate for clinical needs to help 'alleviate pressure' on the Emergency Department at Nobles.
CEO Teresa Cope, says they want to raise awareness of the broad range of healthcare options available and make sure people are seen as quickly as possible.
She added: "Many of the people who might ordinarily attend the Emergency Department at Noble’s Hospital could be treated quickly at the Minor Injuries and Illnesses Unit at Ramsey and, in some cases, could receive advice from a community pharmacy too.
"Community pharmacists may be able to offer treatment under the minor ailments scheme for example.
"I’d encourage everyone to take a look at our signposting information so they’re prepared in case of illness or injury."
