A man’s been jailed after a court heard he wasn’t interested in engaging with the probation service.
Anthony John Richard Lyons of Spring Valley Road in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He admitted breaching a probation order on February 14 and damaging a car in Spring Gardens in Douglas on February 17.
The court heard Lyons had recently been released from prison but wouldn’t meet probation officers or answer the phone to them – he told them he didn’t see the point.
At around 5pm on February 17 a dashcam on a black Mercedes filmed him as he spat at the car and punched its wing mirror.
He later told police he’d been drunk for a week after being released from prison and couldn’t remember the offence.
Magistrates revoked the probation order imposed for theft offences and jailed him for a total of 12 weeks.
