Efforts are being made to encourage people to spend their money with local businesses and not buy goods or services from elsewhere.
That's the message from the Economic Development Minister who was asked to explain what his department was doing to promote the 'local multiplier effect':
He told the House of Keys that local suppliers win the majority of government contracts and during the regeneration work locally accredited Manx tradespeople were used where possible.
However he admitted more could be done to make the process "ring true" throughout the rest of government - Douglas North MHK Ralph Peake says he thinks it needs explaining better:
Weather postpones council's Easter fun day
Seven ferry crossings hit by water levels and dredging issues in Douglas
Sam Barks returns to Les Mis in transatlatic tour
DHSC commissioning rapid review of Noble's bed capacity
Progress being made on landmark's new building
Temporary traffic lights on TT course section
All government departments but one within budget
