The government's reminding people they need a licence to fish in Manx reservoirs and rivers after a man was prosecuted last week.
The Douglas resident was fined £350 plus court costs after admitting fishing at Kerrowdhoo Reservoir without a valid permit.
Officials say routine checks of inland waters are carried about by fisheries officers and volunteers.
