Tynwald will be asked to approve library spending at this month's sitting.
MHK Clare Bettison, will ask for three recommendations to allow the family library to continue to run until 2020.
One of the recommendations is for the government to provide £125,000 to continue the use of mobile, home libraries and school services.
She'll also ask for another £125,000 to be provided to Family Library Limited directly so it can continue for the next two years.
