Laxey village to get major face lift

The government has made £500,000 available for regeneration in 2011 with the aim of encouraging civic pride within town and village centres.

Plans are in place to create a village square for Laxey as part of the government regeneration plans for the community.

The facility which will create a new focal point for the village is among other ideas being considered as part of the governments town and village regeneration scheme which include public art and new street lighting.

The government has made £500,000 available for regeneration in 2011 with the aim of encouraging civic pride within town and village centres.

Commercial property owners and lease owners have been invited to apply for funding to improve the appearance of buildings.
