Work on flood defences in Laxey is scheduled to finish at Christmas.
Fifty-one properties on Glen Road were severely damaged when the river’s wall was breached in October 2019.
In September the following year temporary work on the river was carried out by Manx Utilities to reduce the risk of flooding during winter.
This included adding large rocks to try and stabilise the river walls and protect against erosion damage.
Melanie Christian is a Garff Commissioner:
She added that the priority is the river flood defence rather than the sea wall.
