The Department of Infrastructure says the number of ferry passengers at the Sea Terminal has risen by almost eight per cent this year.
Its September harbour traffic figures show so far this year 583,977 people arrived or departed on ferries.
That compares to last year's figure of 542,485.
The statistics show growth in routes to both Heysham and Liverpool.
