Island takes part in British-Irish Council meet

A meeting of the British-Irish Council Environment Group was held on the Island this week.

Government ministers and officials met in Douglas to discuss a range of subjects including biodiversity and consumer impact on natural resources. 
 
The BIC is an international forum comprising of the governments of the UK, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey. 
 
Established under the terms of the Good Friday Peace Agreement - it's the only one of its kind in the world. 
 
Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister Richard Ronan told us why it came about:
