Island pass percentage at higher grades lower than last year

Less students on the Isle of Man received higher grades of A*-B this year, in comparison to 2018.

It comes following hundreds of Island students receiving their A level results this morning.

Government says it's part of a 'national picture' - with fewer As and A*s being awarded in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The percentage of passes at the higher grades stood at 42 per cent - which is lower than last years.

However, the Island's overall A level pass rate stood at 98.4 per cent.

More than 350 pupils from the five secondary schools along with King Williams College found out how they've done in their final exams of the academic year.
