The Manx government is warning of a scam which has hit the property market on the Isle of Man.
There have been a number of reports of criminals using genuine listing material to recreate fake adverts with the aim of stealing deposits.
The Isle of Man Office of Cyber Security (OCSIA) is urging anyone looking to rent or buy to speak to an estate agent directly.
A spokesman added: " Non Isle of Man numbers, off-Island bank accounts and odd emails should flag up concerns".
If you have been scammed you should let your bank know before reporting the incident to OCSIA and the Police.
