Police say a dog had a lucky escape last week - after he was impaled on a metal spike.
Officers from the Western Neighbourhood Policing Team helped vets in Glen Helen when a Springer Spaniel injured himself exploring.
The family pet, aptly named Spike, wasn't seriously injured but needed 16 stitches after his ordeal and is expected to make a full recovery.
Officers say they've removed the piece of old fencing to stop other animals being injured.
