Police will prosecute drivers causing damage to bridge barriers
Motorists face serious injury or death by ignoring the traffic lights at the lifting bridge on Douglas Quay.
The warning comes from The Department of Infrastructure whob said some drivers continually ignore the red lights when the bridge is about to be raised.
The DoI says this practice is also causing damage to the barriers, which are costly to repair.
The bridge is being monitored by CCTV and Police have warned that they will prosecute those ignoring the lights.
