Hundreds of people attended a memorial service last night to remember the 50 people who died in the Summerland disaster.
The evening marked 40 years since the blaze which is still one of the most fatal incidents in the modern history of the British Isles.
Family members and survivors joined religious leaders, politicians and the general public as the names of those killed were read out.
The event was organised by Douglas Council who erected three huge stone bearing the names of those lost.
Numerous wreathes were laid and prayers given.
Council leaders said it would serve as a lasting reminder and tribute to those who died.
