Hermes driver's jail term suspended on appeal

A Hermes delivery driver who stole parcels he was supposed to deliver has had his jail sentence suspended.

Joshua Maxwell Ffrench of West View in Peel was jailed for a month in September after admitting stealing £47 of maternity clothes, later advertised on Facebook.

During the appeal, his advocate Deborah Myerscough told Judge of Appeal Storey and Deemster Doyle her client was still young and pleaded guilty early in the case - and his trial hadn't paid enough attention to his mitigation.

The court agreed and Ffrench's original jail term was suspended for 12 months.
