Help ahead of Disability Discrimination Act roll out

Help is being offered to service providers on the Isle of Man in a bid to get them prepared for the introduction of the Disability Discrimination Act.

From December 15th it will be unlawful for a provider of services to discriminate against a disabled person in how goods, facilities or services are provided.

In light of this the Department of Health and Social Care has produced six guides detailing the information they need to know, good practice information and a self-assessment checklist.

The publications are free and can be downloaded here

The Disability Discrimination Act will be phased in during a four-year roll out so that service providers and property owners have time to make reasonable adjustments in order to comply.
