Port St Mary's lifeboat crew was called to help a fishing boat earlier.
The all-weather lifeboat, Henry Heys Duckworth, launched just before 11am when the vessel reported it had engine problems.
The RNLI crew found the boat six miles south of Langness and towed it back to Port St Mary Harbour.
Nobody was hurt during the incident.
