A green approach at the prison has led to some much needed savings.
Schemes focussed on recycling, waste management and energy efficiency have helped cut running costs and strengthen community ties.
Two offenders have had active involvement in a recycling project that's lowered utility bills and kept food costs down thanks to the production of nearly two tonnes of vegetables in the prison polytunnels.
MLC Mike Coleman has responsibility for the Prison and Probation Service - he says the committee behind the project had two main objectives in mind when devising new schemes:
Manx Care working to improve service for neurodivergent people
Road blocked because of fire at Peel Golf Club
Solar panel work at NSC starts this week
Senior advocates in line for £40 an hour pay rise
Castletown rates have gone down despite higher bills, says chairman
