The Island's telecoms regulator will consider possible mobile satellite data services later this year.
So says Enterprise Minister Tim Johnston, who faced a question for written reply from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse on the topic.
Mr Johnston says the Communications and Utilities Regulatory Agency will seek expressions of interest from the industry over spectrum requirements and other mobile services later this year.
He says satellite bands will be specifically considered.
