The Department for Enterprise says it wants to create a permanent path around the TT VIP hospitality area at the Grandstand, after letting previous plans lapse.
The department's Motorsports Team has applied for planning permission to lay more than 100 metres of heavy-duty paving made of recycled plastic around the area.
The paving would surround the Mercury Club area just off Glencrutchery Road, and replace temporary paving put down during TT.
In its application, it says it was given the go-ahead to lay a permanent roadway and footpath for use during the Island's racing festivals, but that permission ended in 2024 before the project could be started.
