Government must support vulnerable, says DASH

The director of a charity which supports drug users and their families has said government needs to re-order its priorities.

Last week DASH – the Drug Advice Service and Helpline – had its funding withdrawn by the Department of Social Care.

From August the charity is set to lose around £110,000 per year.

Director of DASH, Shelly Stanley, has told 3FM that government should continue to support the vulnerable and that it was business as usual for the charity.
