Police have taken possession of a German Luger pistol after it was dug up by someone doing their gardening.
The handgun - which was used widely by the German Army in the First and Second World Wars - was uncovered in the garden of a house on Glenfaba Road in Peel.
Officers from the Western Neighbourhood Policing Team have posted a picture of the gun - one of the first semi-automatic pistols - on Facebook.
Although it's in a poor condition - and unable to fire - police say it could still be dangerous as it's not been possible to safely determine whether it still contains live bullets.
They're reminding anyone who finds anything similar to contact them for advice so they can dispose of the items safely.
