Police officers with firearms were called out to Douglas last night following reports of an alleged serious assault.
Members of the police's dog unit, along with armed officers went to the incident on Kensington Avenue.
As a result, the area was closed for several hours while a search was conducted and two men were then arrested.
The Isle of Man Constabulary insists there was no risk to the general public.
