Fire Service rescues dog from Groudle Glen

The Island's Fire Service has issued advice after rescuing a dog from Groudle Glen.

7 year old Ollie was trapped in the river yesterday afternoon, and was saved by the Rope Rescue/Water Rescue Team and a crew from Douglas.

Fire officers say he was a 'little bit damp and shaken,' but is now warming up nicely after his ordeal.

After heavy rain you're asked to keep dogs away from fast flowing rivers and be aware that some river banks and cliff edges may be unstable and could give way.
