A drug-driver has been banned from the roads for five years after racking up two similar convictions in a decade.
Grant William Thomson of Shore Road in Port St Mary appeared before magistrates at Douglas courthouse.
The 25 year old admitted driving while over the cannabis limit on March 14 on the Mountain Road.
Prosecutor James Robinson told the hearing police stopped Thomson’s Audi at the Bungalow just after 8.30pm and tested him for drugs when they smelled cannabis.
A blood sample later gave a reading of 2.7 microgrammes of THC – the legal limit is two.
Magistrates told him his decision to drive had been a serious misjudgement, and imposed a £1,000 fine and £125 costs as well as the driving ban.
