A Freedom of Information request has revealed that the Island's cannabis drug-driving limit was introduced using the same scientific evidence as the UK.
The Department of Infrastructure said the limit was matched to the UK's after police requested it.
It said the UK government set up a panel of experts to set its limit, and that the Isle of Man used the same reports and data.
And the department says when the Island changed its drug-driving laws, it adopted the same guidelines.
